Tasting The Flavours Of Fasting With Bay Leaf

Bay Leaf – the multi cuisine fine dining restaurant – at Courtyard by Marriott today announced the launch of 9 day Navaratri Thali Food Festival starting March 28.

Hotel Executive Chef Ravinder Singh Panwar today informed in a press release that the Hotel will welcome the Navratri with its wide range of food, beverages and desserts for the guests. He said his team of chefs have brought mouth watering twists to the traditional menu promising the fast into a feast. “During Navratri, it is usual to have products made of Kuttu / singhara flour. But these have a limited appeal. So, we have done something unique to the dishes, which makes them finger licking.” Said Ravinder.

He further said that they have included a number of delicious dishes right from the starters to the desserts. The feast begins with the tasty ‘Vazhakkai chips’ which are deep fried with black pepper and tossed with curry leaves, Roasted Makhana roasted in ghee and tossed with Indian mixed spices. The starters does not end here, it includes ‘tandoori phalon ki chaat, sabudana vada, palak ke pakorey’ in the menu.

‘The specials from this festival include some selected vegetable preparation without onion and garlic.’ said the executive chef.

Imagine the taste of ‘dahi wali arbi’ simmered in yogurt with kalongi and curry leaves, with the zaayka of ‘vrat wale aloo tamatar ki sabzi’. The main course includes a wide range of dishes including ‘khatta-meetha kaddu, sukhi lauki ki sabzi, nariyal aur kala chana, sabudana khichdi, sama ke chawal/samvat pulao and singhare atta ki poori.’

Apart from the delicious foods, how can we forget desserts and beverages? ‘Lauki ka halwa, makhani ki kheer, til ke laddoo or coconut laddoo’; along with the cucumber/ anardana/phalahari raita and aloo singhara dahi-wada  will be served in the menu. Besides, there are mouth watering snacks for those odd hours, when one doesn’t feel like having something heavy. So you can pick the mouth watering banana and walnut lassi and mausambi ka ras will be served in beverages.

Navratri is the festival of traditions and devotions. The Bay-leaf restaurant will greet all its guests by saying ‘Namaste’ instead of hello or welcome. The aura of the restaurant will be pious with the fragrance of food and flavour.
