Unforeseen competition led to difficult Q3 for telcos: Rel Com


Like its peers, Reliance Communication reported a weak set of third quarter earnings where its revenue fell 5.5 percent to Rs 4,822 crore quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) and the company was at a loss of Rs 531 crore as compared to a profit of Rs 39 crore in the last quarter.

In an interview with CNBC-TV18, Gurdeep Singh, CEO-Consumer Business, Reliance Communication said that it was a difficult quarter for the telecom industry given the unprecedented competition intensity.

He said that the company’s domestic operation performance has been better than peers and it continues to report stable results on the global business front.
