NEW DELHI: Birla Institute of Technological Sciences (BITS) Pilani, Hyderabad campus and Mytrah Energy, an independent power producer in renewable energy signed a MoU for collaborative R&D initiatives to focus on areas of product development, research, technical support as well as training and development.
The MoU includes software and hardware development, faculty consultancy projects and fellowship for students working on the joint projects.
As part of this collaboration, joint initiatives pertaining to big data analytics, condition monitoring and foundation analysis for wind turbines would be pursued further.
Professor G Sundar, director, BITS Pilani, Hyderabad campus said, “With increasing demand for renewable energy resources, there is an urgent need to foster intellectual potential well- equipped with knowledge base and synchronised with changing global energy needs.
The industry-institute partnership in projects at different levels is part of BITS-Pilani’s engagement with the outside world. It provides students and faculty opportunities to work on live projects catering to societal needs.”
Vikram Kailas, chief executive officer of Mytrah Energy said, “Industry-academia collaboration is critical for a technology leap in renewable energy in India.”
