Loosen your purse strings, Numaish is here

Finance Minister Etala Rajender and Industries Minister K.T. Rama Rao inaugurated the 77th All India Industrial Exhibition, popularly known as ‘Numaish’, at the Exhibition Grounds here on Sunday.

Speaking at the inaugural function, Mr. Rama Rao said the process for leasing out the exhibition land to the Exhibition Society for 99 years was completed and the necessary documents would be handed over to the society soon. The event that started 77 years ago with an objective to provide a platform to exhibit products made across the country gained popularity over the years, he noted.

After downloading the app, the visitors can search for empty parking space and park their vehicle there. Free parking space was being made available in all the building complexes belonging to the Housing Board in the area.

Along with Mr. Rajender, Mr. Rama Rao also inaugurated a mobile ATM centre of a cooperative bank at the Exhibition Grounds. He assured that the government would extend all cooperation to the Exhibition Society to bring it recognition at the international level.

To help the visitors overcome the problem of currency notes, the Exhibition Society has also arranged Point of Sale (PoS) swiping machines for sale of entry tickets priced at Rs. 25 per head.

The society officials said all security arrangements were made at the Exhibition Grounds, including installation of closed-circuit television cameras at 32 places. The exhibition was visited by about 20 lakh people last year and given that, a business of over Rs. 100 crore is being expected this year.
