BHOPAL: Amid scathing attacks by senior BJP leaders and disgruntled workers over ‘babudom’ and delay in ambitious projects, officials of Madhya Pradesh found some solace in Union minister Venkaiah Naidu on Monday, after he praised Shivraj Singh Chouhan, saying chief minister is lean and thin when it comes to looks but perfect and performing as far as his job is concerned. He said, “Chouhan is light in weight but heavyweight in work.”
Naidu also lauded Chouhan, saying he was the one who helped the state shrug off its laggard (Bimaru) tag by achieving record 20% growth in agriculture sector.
“Chouhan is close to my heart, as he is a performer. Officials of urban development department in Madhya Pradesh or Delhi, who put their heart and soul, are also very dear to me,” remarked Naidu while addressing a workshop to review progress of Smart City project in Madhya Pradesh.
The Union minister, who has assured to sanction Rs84,000 crore for various projects in three years, said state government has performed well in fields of women empowerment, urban infrastructure development and overall growth under BJP rule and Chouhan’s leadership.
