The Indian delegation from Gujarat, concluded its official visit to Taiwan. The delegation led by Mr. Roopwant Singh, IAS, Managing Director, Gujarat Informatics Ltd., had a packed schedule comprising of meetings with the government officials, top management of industry bodies, heads of trade associations, private banks and university of Taiwan. The delegation also participated at the ‘Make In India’ session at TAITRONICS.
As part of the schedule, the delegation visited Mr. Charles Lin, Deputy Mayor of Taipei City, who, in his concluding remarks congratulated the delegation leader on the progress made in Gujarat. Further, he expressed his desire to attend the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, personally along with some Taiwanese Industry leaders. The Deputy Mayor also extended an invite to the delegation to attend the Smart Cities Summit & Expo 2017, scheduled during Feb 21-24, 2017 at Taipei World Trade Centre.
Speaking on the visit, the delegation leader, Mr. Roopwant Singh, IAS, Managing Director, GIL said, “I am honored by the warmth extended by the Hon’ble Deputy Mayor of Taipei City. I look forward to welcoming him at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2017. We’ve had very successful meetings especially with the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), Taipei Computer Association, CTBC Bank, CTCI and ACER. The magnitude at which the previous editions of the summit were conducted are well recognized by the Taiwanese. Their participation at the Summit will further strengthen the relationship Gujarat shares with Taiwan. We see great opportunities to work together and the summit is the perfect platform to take the conversation forward.”
The Indian delegation from Gujarat also comprised of Industry leaders like Mr. Paresh Vasani, MD – PCB Power / Circuit Systems India, Mr. Nilay Patel, CEO – Easy Pay and Mr. Liou, Jia-Ciao (Gary) from Maxxis (Cheng Shin Rubber).

In the next phase, the delegation will travel to Singapore and shall be led by Mr. Ashwini Kumar, IAS, Secretary to Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat. The delegates will throw light on some of the investor friendly policies, perfect economic ecosystem and single window clearance procedures that Gujarat offers, making it one of the most sought after investment destination globally. Gujarat was also ranked number 1 in ‘Ease of Doing Business’ in 2015 amongst all states of India in a joint study by the Government of India and World Bank.
