Police drive continues against those who drinker drivers


Recommendations to suspend 415 driving licences till today
Bhopal : The police drive started on August 5 across the state, is underway against those who drink and drive. Recommendations are being made to suspend driving lincences, along with imposing fine and action of issuing challan under the drive, started on the instructions of Minister of Home Affairs Bhupendra Singh.

Total 3286 cases have been registered for driving in inebriated condition in the state. Drivers of 2864 two-wheeler, 187 four-wheeler, one bus, 21 trucks and 84 other vehicles were found in inebriated condition. Penalty to the tune of Rs 6,20, 101 was imposed on the drivers and recommendations were made to suspend licences of 415 drivers.

The zone wise break-up of the cases registered includes 341 cases in Bhopal, 190 cases in Gwalior, 62 cases in Chambal, 1010 cases in Indore, 598 cases in Ujjain, 309 cases in Jabalpur, 221 cases in Balaghat, 125 cases in Sagar, 93 cases in Rewa, 16 cases in Shahdol and 321 cases in Hoshangabad zone. The police drive will continue on the instructions of the home minister Bhupendra Singh. The minister Singh has issued instructions to immidiatly suspend the licences of those who drink and drive.
