New Delhi: Castor oil exporter Jayant Agro Organics on Saturday reported a more than two-fold jump in consolidated net profit at Rs 11.45 crore for the fiscal first quarter that ended on June 30, on the back of strong sales.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 4.12 crore for the corresponding period of fiscal year 2015-16, it said in a regulatory filing.
Jayant Agro Organics’ net sales rose 11.52 per cent to Rs 387.51 crore in the quarter, as against Rs 347.47 crore in the year-ago period, it said.
Its expenses also remained higher at Rs 361.40 crore as against Rs 332.73 crore a year ago.
The Mumbai-based company manufactures castor oil and its products and exports them. It is also into power generation business.
