Genuine Broaster Chicken ties up with Yellow Tie Hospitality to enter India


BENGALURU: US-based restaurant chainGenuine Broaster Chicken has tied up with food and beverage franchise management company Yellow Tie Hospitality to enter India and is planning to invest Rs 20 crore in the next two years.

The company, which will compete with the likes of KFC and Five Star Chicken , is set to launch its first outlet in Mumbai next month. It plans to roll out more than 300 outlets in 40 cities across the country by 2018.

“We are looking at opening multiple format stores to cater to different customers. So we will have kiosks, quick service restaurants and casual dine-in with alcohol,” said Karan Tanna, CEO of Mumbai-based Yellow Tie Hospitality.

Founded in 1953, Genuine Broaster Chicken is known for serving pressure fried chicken. It will also offer dishes such as Jong-Lee burger, Happy Fried Chicken and Palangtod.

The company has presence in 36 countries across the world.

“Genuine Broaster Chicken contains zero trans-fat. With Broaster chicken, the customers will enjoy delicious fried chicken, which is of far superior quality, uses less oil and retains natural chicken moisture. We are very bullish about our products in India,” said Bill Loeffelholz, head of the company’s international operations.

According to market research firm Crisil, India’s quick service restaurant market will grow to Rs 7,000 crore this year, doubling over the past four years.
