Maruti Suzuki on Friday said it is recalling 75,419 Baleno cars to upgrade the hatchback’s airbag controller software.
The recalled Baleno cars (petrol and diesel) were manufactured between August 3, 2015 and May 17, 2016, Maruti Suzuki said in a statement.
Nearly 16,000 Baleno cars (only diesel), manufactured between August 3, 2015 and March 22, 2016, will also be checked for faulty fuel filter, Maruti said.
Maruti – India’s biggest carmaker – is also recalling 1,961 units of DZire compact sedan to replace faulty fuel filter.
Dealers will start reaching out to buyers from May 31.
“The software upgrade and the replacement of faulty fuel filter, will be done free of cost,” Maruti said.
As of 2:28 p.m., Maruti Suzuki shares were up 0.72 per cent at Rs 4,148 as compared to 0.9 per cent gain in the broader Nifty.
