An injured Chausinga (Four-Horned Antelope) brought from Dahod in Obaidullaganj forest range was successfully operated upon at Van Vihar. It is being constantly being monitored by wildlife doctors.
On examination after reaching Van Vihar, left leg of Chausinga was found broken. It was motionless. Since it was not under stress, Chausinga was given first aid and kept in quarantine till becoming normal. Health of Chausinga was examined again yesterday. Since the left leg was lifeless and there was no hope for joining of bones naturally and possibility of gangrene, the doctors decided to conduct surgery and amputate the left leg to save life of Chausinga.
