AP all set to be open defecation free by 2017


New Delhi: Andhra Pradesh is set to become the first state to make all its urban areas open defecation free by October 2, 2017. State government officials gave this assurance during a review of Swachh Bharat Mission in all 110 municipalities of AP by Union urban development secretary Rajiv Gauba.

As against the mission target of construction of 194,336 individual household toilets in urban areas of AP, work has started on 153,779 toilets and 104,732 toilets have been completed.
