A complete virtual reality kit for the PlayStation 4 is to retail at $499 (approximately Rs 33,000), with Sony’s Launch Bundle to include the PSVR headset, PS4 Camera, two Move Controllers, and a collection of 5 VR experiences.
The $499 bundle is up $100 (approximately Rs 6,600) on the price of the basic PlayStation VR headset, whose $399 (approximately Rs 26,400) price and October launch date were revealed during the Game Developers Conference on March 15.
What the Launch Bundle represents is both convenience and value: before Monday’s PSVR announcement, the PlayStation 4’s camera, a mandatory accessory not included with the base pack, was retailing for around $49. The slightly less essential Move Controllers went for about $29 apiece.
The Bundle is also the only PSVR package with a pre-order date.
