In-charge Minister Gopal Bhargava at Smart City project workshop
Bhopal : Panchayats and Rural Development Minister Gopal Bhargava has said that every possible effort is being made to develop Bhopal as smart city. Bhargava was addressing Smart City project launching workshop at Hotel Noor-us-Sabah here today.
Bhargava said that a year ago, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had conceptualized Smart City to create new dimensions of development in cities. Bhopal has moved forward in this regard and is exhibiting successful development of the concept. He said that Bhopal is a better and beautiful city. It will be India’s first Smart City. He said that under the guidance of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, works has been undertaken to preserve heritage and culture of Bhopal city. This work is incomparable. In future, entire Bhopal will be developed as Smart City and tourism potential will also grow immensly.
Minister of State for Urban Development Lal Singh Arya said that cooperation and positive thinking of all is necessary to make Bhopal Smart City. He said that later on all cities in the state will be made Smart Cities.
Mayor Alok Sharma said that the Corporation is committed to providing all the quality services in the city. He said that the real work has begun now. The dream of Smart City is being materialized today. Sharma said that efforts will be made to develop cycle track at Bhopal.
Minister Gopal Bhargava launched Smart Street Poles, City Level GIS, Bhopal Plus (App), Smart Public Bike Sharing, Intelligent Transport Systems and Pen City Model.
MP Alok Sanjar, Tourism Development Corporation Chairman Tapan Bhowmik, Principal Secretary Urban Development Malay Shrivastava, Commissioner of Urban Development Vivek Agrawal, collector Nishant Warwade and municipal commissioner Smt. Chhavi Bharadwaj and distinguished citizens were present on the occasion.
