Auto Expo 2018: TVS unveils Ethanol-run bike, electric scooter and cruiser


Chennai-based TVS Motors today unveiled three products at the Auto Expo including a ethanol-based 200cc Apache bike.

The Apache RTR 200 Fi Ethanol can run with up to 85 percent Ethanol content (E85) and can generate peak power of 21 PS. The bike has a top speed of 129 kmph.


Zeppelin, a futuristic motorcycle cruiser, was one of the three bikes unveiled by the company. It is powered by a 220cc engine which has a TVS patented integrated starter generator.

A 1200 W regenerative assist motor with 48 V lithium ion battery further adds to the performance. The riding posture of the bike is aggressive yet comfortable , having two seat lowered bars and feet forward highway pegs.


Zeppelin has a dual channel anti-lock braking system and mono-shocks. It also features an LED lighting system, bio-key, electronic speedometer, online connectivity as well as an integrated HD action camera.

TVS also showcased the Creon, a performance-oriented  electric scooter concept. The scooter has a range of 80 km and does 0-60 kmph in under 5.1 seconds. The Creon has a rapid charging time of 60 minutes to reach 80 percent of its charge.


The heart of the Creon are 3 Lithium ion batteries capable of delivering 12 kW of power. The smart connected technologies on board have been developed in collaboration with Intel.

The scooter is equipped with TFT screen which displays speedometer, battery charge, and health status. Its also has regenerative braking, park assist, safety,  anti-theft,  GOS and navigation and geo-fencing.moneycontrol
