For majority of students pursuing a college degree, internship is important from both career point of view as well as from the academic angle. After completion of few semesters or before the last semester, students are required to do internships, so as to get them acquainted with the industry and get an idea of how the actual corporate world functions.
An internship is an opportunity which a company or an employer offers to eligible candidates ,called interns, in which they are asked to perform a variety of tasks related to their area of expertise. At the end of the internship, a certificate is provided to the intern, with a detailed description of his performance as future prospective. Most of the companies also provide a stipend, which is a fixed amount of money which the intern receives for working with them. Most of the internships last for any length of time between four week and 2 months.
