SPACES-Home & Beyond Presented the Main Street Festival at Kala Ghoda Arts Festival 2016!

SPACES-Home & Beyond is the premium bed, bath and co-ordinates brand from the house of Welspun. This year, SPACES-Home & Beyond presented the Main Street Festival at the annual cultural festival- Kala Ghoda Arts Festival (KGAF) 2016 from 6th February’16 to 14th February’16 in Mumbai. SPACES-Home & Beyond put up several thought-provoking and striking installations celebrating the theme “The Fabric of Life”.

The feel of your favourite quilt, the memory of your childhood pillow, the comfort of your personal towel, the inspiration of the hand-woven fabric- textile and fabrics act as strong memory holders and triggers for our minds! Through the brand’s installations at KGAF 2016, the visual narrative explained the prominence of textiles in home décor in a playful approach. The décor and installations at KGAF 2016 helped visitors to see textiles more closely and recognize the tactile and visual exquisiteness of it.

Commenting on the brand’s association with KGAF 2016, Dipali Goenka, CEO and Joint MD of Welspun India Limited said, “We all live in our own bubble; a nest; a hub of emotional reassurance. This reassurance is symbolized as a cocoon, a metaphor for the Home, a living sanctuary that nurtures creativity. These were the interesting stories embodied in installations, textile murals, transforming trees that elevated the ambience at the SPACES Street at the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival 2016. Onlookers experienced an interesting juxtaposition of colors, prints and highly tactile surface explorations.”

The Fabric of Life <Tree of Life> installation at the Amphitheatre provided an experience of sumptuous metaphorical play of the natural form of the tree with cocoon shaped gently lit homes. It was a pure visual treat while watching live shows during the festival. The “Find the Designer in You” podium invited visitors to come and be a part of one of a kind community art installation formed by the collective efforts of the creative Mumbaikar.
All the installations at the SPACES Street were conceptualized and designed by artist Navdeep Kaur along with the SPACES-Home & Beyond team.

The SPACES Street helped attendees of the KGAF 2016 experience the installations, be inspired, be comforted by the familiar and indulge their creative expression.
