SRINAGAR: The ruling PDP-BJP coalition has decided to fight the upcoming parliamentary by elections separately, as the PDP has fielded Tasaduq Mufti, brother of chief minister Mehbooba Mufti, from Anantnag parliamentary constituency of south Kashmir.
The BJP would decide on their candidates in a few days, while opposition National Conference and Congress is deliberating upon pre-poll alliance in which Dr Farooq Abdullah is likely to contest the elections from Srinagar constituency.
The Congress candidate may be fielded from Anantnag. Even though other names are also being considered, the final decision would be made public in two days.
The PDP in its political affairs committee meeting decided on the candidature of Tasaduq Mufti, a cinematographer, who came back to Valley, after death of his father Mufti Sayeed last year. He was already active in many infrastructure rebuilding and tourism projects in the Valley and has been seen in official meetings as well.
