Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has announced the results of lottery for 4,275 affordable homes in Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) under the Konkan Housing and Area development Board.

The lottery was held at the Rangsharda auditorium in Bandra Reclamation in Mumbai.
The cost of the units under the lottery for this year varies from Rs 4.37 lakh to Rs 40.93 lakh. The houses are divided among the weaker sections and middle-income and are priced accordingly. While a small tenement will cost Rs 4 lakh in Thane, a 653.7 square feet flat will cost Rs 40.93 lakh in Virar.
It released 183 flats in Thane (164 in Kavesar and 19 in Balkum), 310 at Mira Road, 3,755 in Virar and 27 in Vengurla.
The size of the flate are 368 sqft and 670 sqft. MHADA will hand over the flats to the aspirants by April 2016, according to Zee News reports.
MHADA was establishd in the year 1977 under the Housing Department Government of Maharashtra and was constituted under MHAD Act of 1976. It was established to approach housing problem in the stat.
