British luxury brand Land Rover on Tuesday launched the country’s first convertible sports utility vehicle (SUV) the Range Rover Evoque Convertible priced at Rs 69.53 lakh (ex-showroom).
This is the tenth model launched by Jaguar Land Rover in this financial year. The Tata Motors-owned brand is fourth-biggest luxury car brand in India.
The two-door SUV will be the third addition to the Evoque line-up and will be fully imported. The regular Evoque is a five door vehicle with a hard top. Land Rover also sells the coupe version of the car in India.
Since no other luxury car maker sells a convertible SUV in India. the Evoque Convertible therefore has no competition.
The Evoque convertible comes powered with a petrol-fired 2.0 litre, 132kW engine mated to a 9-speed transmission. The car can do 0-100km/hr in 9 seconds and can achieve maximum speed of 195km/hr. There is no other engine option Land Rover is offering on this car at the moment.
The cabin is all-black with configurable ambient interior lighting, perforated Windsor leather seats and a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with voice recognition and navigation pro.
Rain sensing wipers, keyless, surround camera system, front parking aid, 12 way electric front seats with memory, Meridian Surround System with 12 speakers and sub-woofer, 10inch touchscreen, adaptive Xenon headlights with LED signature are some of the features of the new Evoque convertible.
Evoque is one of the five brands (Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Velar, Discovery and Discovery Sport) Land Rover sells in India and is also the cheapest under the Range Rover brand. It is the fastest growing SUV for the company globally.moneycontrol
