Korba (Chhattisgarh), 29 November, 2017 : Dr. Raman Singh, Honourable Chief Minister, Government of Chhattisgarh and Shri Dharmendra Pradhan honourable Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas & Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India today jointly dedicated state of the art oil terminals of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. at Korba and Raipur in presence of Shri Sanjiv Singh,Chairman, IndianOil Corporation Ltd . They also laid foundation stone for a state of the art LPG bottling plant to be set up at Korba.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Shri Amar Agrawal, Minister of Commerce & Industries, Chhattisgarh; Dr. Banshilal Mahato, Member Of Parliament, Korba; Ms Renu Agrawal, Mayor, Korba; Shri Lakhan Lal Devangan, MLA, Katghora; Shri Jaisingh Agrawal, MLA, Korba. From Indian Oil Corporation the other dignitaries present were Shri B.S. Canth, Director (Marketing), Shri Gurmeet Singh, Executive Director (LPG), Shri Subodh Dakwale, Executive Director (Corporate Communications & Branding) and Shri Vigyan Kumar, CGM (Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh)
The Rs.219 crore Korba Terminal, developed on 244 acres of land, at Gopalpur village, with a storage capacity of 55600 kilo litre is the biggest Oil Terminal in Chhattisgarh. It will cater to supply of petroleum products to 240 retail outlets and 50 bulk consumers in 10 districts of Chhattisgarh. These districts, spread in 293 kms of radius, include Raigarh, Korba, Janjgir Champa, Bilaspur, Mungeli, Surajpur, Jashpur, Surguja, Balrampur and Koriya. The terminal will receive round the year supplies through Paradip-Ranchi-Raipur Pipeline.
At the beginning of the ceremony , Dr Raman Singh and Shri Pradhan unveiled the plaque of the project and toured the terminal, where they were briefed about its features.
Dr. Raman Singh in his address thanked Petroleum and Gas Ministry for its continued support in making petroleum products reach to the people of Chhattisgarh. He also stated that the Pradhan Mantri Ujjawala Yojana is a big success in making kitchens smoke free.
Speaking on the occasion Shri Pradhan praised the project, referring to its contribution to the success of the economic development plans of Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi led government. He said “This new facility will further strengthen storage and distribution of petroleum products in Chhattisgarh”.
