India- Iran relation further strengthens with P4 Expo 2016

New Delhi: April 5, 2016: P4 Expo 2016 (PLASTICS, PETROCHEMICALS, PRINTING AND PACKAGING) started today at India Expo Mart, Greater Noida . The four day exhibition was inaugurated by Shri. Dharmendra Pradhan & Shri Giriraj Singh. The Expo is jointly organised by All India Plastics Industries Association (AIPIA) and Dubai based trade fair organiser, Verifair. The Expo not only will further strengthen bilateral relations between India and Iran but will also serve as a platform where both domestic and international companies can showcase their expertise, products, and technology innovations in the respective industries.
Giriraj Singh, Minister of MSME, India said “Exhibitions like P4 is a big opportunity for both Indian and foreign players to come on a common platform and exchange ideas and research for development of MSME and other sectors to grow. MSME provides 80% of the total employment in the world. Plastic & petrochemical has brought revolution in the world economy. India is dependent on other countries for the import of raw materials for this industry, It’s a time to become self reliant to give tough to competition China. We should not be afraid of competition rather we should become a competition to others. I urge all the members of the association and investors to invest in research & development as much as possible.”
Dharmendra Pradhan, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, India said “It is an honour to be here and I would thank AIPIA and Verifair for organising P4 and to bring plastic, petrochemical, printing and packaging within one roof. As Petroleum products play an important role in the development of any country and it is necessary that all the major players in the sector should come together and exchange ideas which helps in the providing better technology and products. We are obliged that Iran is playing an important role in this expo by becoming the partner country, this initiative by Iran is another step towards India-Iran friendship. Iran will be a major partner in all our future business development and expansion.”
Elizabeth Thabethe, minister of Small Business Development and member of parliament, Govt of South Africa said “South Africa is proud of the association with India, world and Africa. South Africa is a rapidly growing economy in terms of infrastructure. Our economy is diversified and will provide a huge market for the investors. I am happy to be at P4 Expo 2016.”

India is poised to become the 3rd largest consumer of polymers in the world, after US and China as the demand for plastics has touched 20 millions tones by the year 2015. The P4 Expo is an apt opportunity for the Indian Petrochemical products manufacturers as India is an emerging major consumer of petrochemical products with 14% annual growth, the turnover is expected to touch USD 100 billion by 2020. Plastics consumption in India is growing over 16% a year currently and with the growth rate of 12%, India is set to become the 4th largest global market by 2016 and will become 5th largest market by 2018 in terms of volume in the printing industry.
