Prof. B.M. Hegde said, today you accomplished your dream of becoming a Doctor. As a Doctor you are a role model to the society, to maintain that stature you need to have an impeccable character, need to be kind to your patients and well equipped to handle the toughest of the situation. Being a Doctor is a great responsibility, good doctor is a good human being first and that is what can win the confidence of the patient, which is what also gets you the respect from the patient and the society on the whole. The biggest challenge doctors’ face is keeping abreast with the advances in the medical field. Every month 7% new knowledge is added to the medical field and any one not in tune with the change for even six months will find himself out of place, so must fast paced is the development, therefore always strive to be abreast. To be a doctor is a privilege, honour and a rare opportunity, therefore ensure you do your best by professional standards to keep up the esteem of the medical community and make your alma mater proud of you.

Speaking on the occasion Dr Dilip Mathai, said, Apollo Medical College is in its infancy stage with just the second batch going out, but is already taking great strides. The very first batch had 25% of its students getting Post graduation seats, I am not aware of many institutions accomplishing such heights. The educational ecosystem here gave you a telescopic view of your subject, with the enormous opportunities awaiting, you are on the threshold of achieving bigger things. But remember to make your mark by being of value to the society, chose the right role model and take inspiration from him, and make the Alma mater proud of your accomplishments.
