Zee Sine, a Bollywood movie channel for the local Filipino audience, will make ZEEL the first Indian company to foray into the Philippines with a third dedicated Bollywood channel.
The company had earlier launched two Bollywood channels Zee Bioskop in Indonesia and Zee Nung in Thailand in APAC region, it added.
Commenting on the ocassion, Amit Goenka, ZEEL CEO of International Broadcast Business, said: “We already have five dedicated localised channels in APAC, comprising GEC and movie genres, and our entry into the Philippines will only further strengthen our presence”. He added that the company saw good potential in the APAC region as the pay-TV industry is projected to grow 13% y-o-y in the next five years.
Goenka said that the company had also chalked out an aggressive international expansion plan, with APAC as one of the main key regions. The plans are in line with the company’s Vision 2020 goals.

Zee Sine is a 24X7 channel customised and packaged for the local audience and will feature Hindi film from ZEEL’s library.
“To reach out to the local audience, we have hand-picked movies from the library, dubbed them into Tagalog, re-christened movie titles and character names in English while promos and special movie properties are being locally created. The channel is being distributed through one of the leading cable distributors in the country, Cable Boss, and will soon be available on more platforms in the market,” Maria Liza Young – Ginting, Country Head, Indonesia & Philippines said.
The channel will be showcased at PCTA (Philippine Cable TV Association Inc) Convention 2016, which is one of the biggest pay-TV operators conventions in the Philippines, to be held on April 12-15, 2016.
