Bhopal : January, 2019 : Chief Secretary S.R. Mohanty visited Kshipra’s Triveni Ghat and Ramghat at Ujjain today and took stock of arrangements made for devotees for Makar Sankranti festival at these places. Mohanty directed the administration that best arrangements should be ensured for devotees for Snan and Darshan at various ghats.

He further mentioned that permanent arrangements should be made to release Narmada water into Kshipra river not only for Makar Sankranti festival but other Snan parvs too. The concerned department must shoulder its responsibility with complete coordination to undertake these works. No negligence will be tolerated in these works, he added.
In a meeting, CS Mohanty gave instructions to the officers that the district administration should take strict action to prevent Gambhir river’s water theft. Special attention should be paid on sanitation at ghats. Water of Gambhir river should be released into Kshipra river if it is essential. He further directed that water of Gambhir river should be kept reserved completely for drinking purpose of Ujjain city.
Additional Chief Secretary Water Resources R.S. Julaniya, Additional Chief Secretary Narmada Valley Development Rajnish Vaish, Principal Secretaries Pramod Agrawal and Vivek Agrawal besides other Senior Officers of the division were present during the inspection.
