Courtyard by Marriott To Present Unique Father-Son ‘Jugalbandi’ Of Awadhi Cuisines

Bhopal, July, 2017: The food lovers in Bhopal will witness a first of its kind 10 day ‘Jugalbandi’ of two legacy acclaimed Awadhi Khansamas at the multi-cuisine restaurant MoMo Café at Courtyard by Marriott. Starting from 13 July between 7.30 to 11.30 pm this ‘Jugalbandi’ is a unique food fest – ‘Bade Miyan Aur Chhote Miyan Ki Awadhi Rasoi’ – wherein specially invited Awadhi cuisine maestros – Mohd Ishtiaq (popularly known as Nawabu) and Asif Qureshi- will demonstrate their culinary skills to enthral guests with a treasure of delectable servings.

The descendents of erstwhile Nawabi khansamas, the father-son duo, are known as ‘Bade Miyan’ and ‘Chhote Miyan’ in the Awadhi culinary world. Using special herbs and masalas, handis and other equipments they will be cooking vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes for the next 10 days.

Elaborating the menu and the rich background of these Khansamas Executive Chef, Courtyard by Marriott, Bhopal Ravinder Singh Panwar informed journalists in a press conference that most people consider Awadhi and Mughlai food as same whereas both are very distinct. Mughlai is spicy but Awadhi is quite balanced and much nutritious.

Chef Ravinder informed that the speciality of this food fest would be the signature dishes of these two khansamas. Khansama Mohd Ishtiaq ‘Bade Miyan’ will be cooking his specialities like Kesarbag Fried Chicken, Band Gosht, Nihari and Pineapple Muzaffar while Asif Qureshi ‘Chhote Miyan’ come up with exciting dishes that will include Mutton Korma, Khade Masale Ka Keema, Chicken Ishte and Adasha e Laham. Besides the buffet will offer host of other delicacies to choose from. It will include vegetarian dishes like Awadhi Paneer Kebab, Shahi Korma, Chakundari Paneer, Kathal Biryani and Kaju Biryani. The non vegetarian dishes will include Reshmi Kebab, Mutton Gravy and Dum Pukht Biryani.

In order to complete the sumptuous dinner on a sweet note the guests will have a Moong Dal Ka Halwa, Shahi Tukda, Sevai Jafrani, Rasmalai, Taar Halwa and Chhena Kheer as sweet dish.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
