Celebrating the spirit of cancer survivors, Pink Hope Cancer Patient Support Group along with HCG – The Specialist in Cancer Care launched the third edition of Self V Survivor Stories.
Self V Survivor Stories is a unique platform, a one-of-a-kind celebration for cancer survivors to celebrate the spirit of overcoming cancer. In order to take part in the campaign, cancer survivors would need to take a self-video of up to 60 seconds duration, capturing the story of their struggle and conquest over cancer. By uploading it on facebook.com/selfv or on www.selfv.in, these stories become an ideal encouragement of hope for many patients fighting cancer and break the stigma attached to the disease. These videos will be judged by an external jury and the best ones will be selected for the grand finale of Self V 2016.
The contest will run till end of November 2016 and the best Self V videos will not only make it to the grand finale but also win awards ranging from Ducati Scrambler Bike, international and national holidays from Aster, LED TV from Samsung and other exciting merchandises like designer clothes from Fervour as well.
Amar Bhaskar – Cancer Survivor said,” It’s a day of hope and triumph for all the survivors. Fighting cancer is a battle and one needs to be positive. I thrived after my problems and today I’m a winner, celebrating cancer survivor’s day. Awareness is the key, if more survivors speak about the disease, it instills confidence in thousands of cancer patients, that there is a life after cancer and it can be managed.”
Dr. BS Ajaikumar – Chairman & CEO – HCG said, “Cancer is complex disease and it needs a multi-disciplinary approach to treat it. When outcomes through a focused treatment modality is achieved there would be more survivors and I am happy to note today that survivors are coming and talking about their journey in the battle against cancer and how they have overcome it. Self V Survivor Stories is a great initiative to provide a ray of hope to people out there who are being diagnosed and battling cancer.”
Dinesh Madhavan – Director – Healthcare Services said, “It is important to celebrate this day because we need to spread awareness about the disease and that it is curable. Thus this is a perfect opportunity for all survivors not only to celebrate with their loved ones but also to share their stories of hope to others and giving them strength.”
Through this initiative the main aim of Pink Hope Cancer Patient Support Group along with HCG is to build awareness for patients fighting cancer and encourage other cancer survivors to share their survival stories. For more information on Self V log onto: www.selfv.in
