A day after Rahul Gandhi tweeted BJP’s president Amit Shah was “the only beneficiary of demonetisation”, state Cabinet Minister Sidharth Nath Singh called the Congress Vice President a “balak” (boy) “who doesn’t want to step out of his diapers”.
Rahul Gandhi was referring to a report in The Wire that raised questions against the turnover of Amit Shah’s son Jay Shah’s company.
On Sunday, Rahul Gandhi tweeted: “We have finally found the only beneficiary of demonetisation. It’s not the RBI, the poor or the farmers. It’s the Shah-in-Shah of Demo. Jai Amit.”
Sidharth Nath Singh, while reacting to the same, said: “Mai Rahul Gandhiji ko itna hi kehna chahta hoon… yeh durbhagya hai Congress ka ki yeh balak bada hi nai ho raha hai… woh apne napkin ya jisko hum angrezi me diaper kehte hain… usse bahar hi nahi nikalna chah rahe hain… he does not want to step out of his diaper (I want to tell Rahul Gandhi… it’s Congress’ misfortune that he is not growing up… he does not want to step out of his diaper).”
He further went on to add that Jay Amit Shah had wrapped up his business on October 2016 when demonetisation was announced on November 8 last year.
“Demonetisation finished so many small businesses. From its ashes came out a company…Amit Shah’s son’s company…it’s genie of Modiji’s start up India, Make in India”, said Rahul Gandhi at his recent campaign trail in Vadodara, as per a report Hindustan Times.
At the same event, Rahul Gandhi was caught in the storm of controversy for saying that women can never be seen wearing shorts at RSS headquarters.
Anandiben Patel, former Chief Minister of Gujarat, while reacting to the comment, said that the Congress Vice President should apologise for the “ashobhaniya” (indignified) words hurled at the RSS.
Congress state president Raj Babbar had remarked on Monday saying that BJP had successfully evolved a “Beta Business Model”, which Singh countered by asking Congress to explain its “damaad” (son-in-law) and “National Herald” models.
The war of words comes a day before Amit Shah’s scheduled visit to Rahul’s Lok Sabha constituency of Amethi where he is set to announce several projects.
