BetterPlace has also announced a partnership with Association of Private Security Agencies (APSA) for Andhra & Telangana to expand its services to private security vertical, one of the highest job generating verticals.

The Company is already working with some of the top names in industry in the City. Pravin Agarwala, Co-founder & CEO, BetterPlace, said, “The traction is overwhelming. We always believe in being close to our customers. Moreover the opportunity to support our existing customer base in Hyderabad is massive. And of-course we want to be part of the growing city.”

“The company will be targeting large& medium size companies in industries like security services, facility management, IT/ITES, Pharma, logistics, on-demand services, schools, manufacturing, etc where there is huge dependency on blue-collar workforce, and a skilled, verified & continuously engaged staff makes a significant difference to the end deliverables”, he added.

BetterPlace provides a technology platform and is sector and location agnostic, and have already been working with leaders like Flipkart, Amazon, Ola, Swiggy, HCL, Accenture, Mindtree, SIS, Tech Mahindra, Aurobindo Pharma among many others, who have a significant presence in Andhra & Telangana. “One industry that is extremely important for us is the private security industry due to the fact that private security guards are omnipresent and play a big role in keeping all of us safe, irrespective of the industry,” said Saurabh Tandon, Co-founder & COO, BetterPlace.

Talking about Company’s expansion plans, Saurabh added, “We have an engaged base of 60 lakh people in the informal & semi-formal sector currently. We plan to grow it to 2.5 crore by 2019. We will also be opening sales offices in Mumbai, Pune & Chennai this year. We are also expanding our engineering team by 200% in the next 3 months in order to expedite roll out of new solutions.”

The Company which currently has 1000+ customers intends to ramp up its customer base by another 1500 customers by the end of 2019 calendar year. It intends to launch its services in Middle East and Japan in due course.

Based on the insights generated by BetterPlace tech platform, interestingly, blue collar workforce at a pan India level is 65–75 % migratory in nature while specific to Hyderabad, this is less than 45%. Top challenges include – shortage of skilled manpower, training, compliance gaps and high churn. Jobs like private guards, delivery boys, drivers, housekeeping are seeing a huge demand as their industry is growing at 15 – 20% p.a.

BetterPlace recently rolled out SkillConnect, an AI and Machine Learning powered sourcing & hiring platform. “It is a demand driven aggregation platform for skilled manpower, and we are seeing a demand for 2.10 Lakh people in Telangana & Andhra Pradesh from our customers for jobs like drivers, delivery executives, security guards, housekeeping & other on-demand services. This is expected to go up to 10 Lakhs for the next 12 months with more data coming in. We also have 1.56 Lakh trained candidates from NSDC accredited training partners available on the platform as of today. We will also see these numbers go up as we are rapidly on-boarding the supply side. It is very clear from the data that there is demand and there is supply, and a digital platform like SkillConnect can help the supply meet the demand, and do it in a scalable, and friction-less way,” concludes Anupam Bonanthaya, CMO, BetterPlace.
